Preparing the Gingerbread mix

Finally getting going...

As the recipe goes, we added lemon to the milk and poured it in a decently sized pan, and added the butter.











Brown sugar was measured as was the treacle. Note the recipe actually calls for molassus, but since we live in Malta and there's no molassus to be found, we found a substitute called black treakle, and the bottle actually says to use it when US recipes call for molassus. Both were added to the mix with 3 eggs.













Added some spices now. Lisa will be able to elaborate on which they are but you can get them from the recipe link I gave earlier.







Starting to mix....



Measuring the final ingredient...flour. Must be plain flour, not self raising


Adding the flour to the mix and mixing again.
